The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides a full range of expert consultative services including legal/medical consultations in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.  The Department has state-of-the-art diagnostic centers with national and international reputations for excellence in Autopsy Pathology, Breast Pathology, Cardiovascular Pathology, Cytopathology/FNA, Dermatopathology, Forensic Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, General Surgical Pathology, Genitourinary Pathology, Gynecologic Pathology, Head, Neck, & Endocrine Pathology, Hematopathology, Infectious Pathology, Liver Pathology, Neuropathology, Ophthalmic Pathology, Pediatric Pathology, Pulmonary/Thoracic Pathology, Renal (medical) Pathology, Skeletal Muscle Pathology, Soft Tissue & Bone Pathology and Transplant Pathology.

Dedicated laboratory facilities are available in Asbestos Analysis, Cytogenetics, Electron Microscopy (diagnostic & viral), Flow Cytometry, Image Cytometry, Immunopathology, Informatics, Molecular Diagnostics, PhotoPath, and Quality Improvement and Compliance Services We also maintain an extensive collaborative and contractual network to provide a complete range of esoteric analytical tests.
