Microscope Use

We have two photomicroscopes in our lab. An Olympus Vanox is used for photographing 35mm color slides and/or prints, or digital images, and is capable of brightfield, oil, polarization, darkfield, and phase illuminations. This scope is largely automated, so you can find the field you want to photograph and press a button to capture it. We give you an introduction on what few buttons to press and we provide the film and processing. These pictures are the best choice for slide presentations, poster sessions, and scanning into digital images (by us or by you).

When you need black and white prints for publication, you can sign up to take pictures with one of us on the Zeiss Ultraphot scope. We shoot a 4x5 inch negative to obtain a high quality black and white print for each of your fields.

Call or come by to make an appointment for either scope, and to discuss the best way to obtain images for your specific project.
